What three years of real data actually shows
- Category B (Class 12) cutoffs are consistently and substantially higher than Category A across every region and year shown here — often by 10-15 marks, reflecting a single-grade pool competing for a smaller quota.
- The same region can move a lot year to year — Delhi's Category A cutoff went from 17 (2023) to 35 (2024) to 37 (2025), which tracks a harder overall pool and paper, not a change in how the exam is graded.
- Some regions (Telangana, Karnataka) show up as consistently high-cutoff, competitive pools across multiple years, which is useful context if you're benchmarking a specific region rather than a national average.
- The Girls' quota cutoff sits just a few marks below the regular Category A cutoff in the same region and year, not dramatically lower — it's a targeted relaxation, not a separate easy track.
A caution on using this data
These figures are compiled from published MTA(I) archives via third-party aggregators, and the 2024 example above shows even an official cutoff can be revised after initial release. Treat these as directional historical context — genuinely useful for understanding the range and trend — rather than a number to match exactly. For your specific year and region, the authoritative source is MTA(I)'s own results portal, not a compiled table.
